Smile..

Guess what I just read in Shape Magazine??

"Here's proof that true beaty goes way beyond makeup tips: A Study published in the Journal Research in Personalit found that peope who are friendly are rated as more attractive than those who are introverted. According to resarcher, That's because people associate being sociable with physical beaty. So next time you want to look glam, slick on some gloss, but don't forget to smile- you'll look prettier in an instant."

Just thought I would share that with you all...

Have a great DAY!

Perfect for Halloween and Everyday!!

Aren't these LOVELY!!?? You can purchase them HERE.

This is what MAC had to say:A potion to poison, an apple to bite, a spell to cast… Bad never looked so good. A crystal ball of colour created from our favourite Disney Venomous Villains, inspired by the three most infamously frosty, fabulous and formidable of Disney’s dark ladies… and one dastardly Dr. Facilier. Don’t you love it?

A MAC and Disney collaboration to celebrate the dark side in every one of us, in a glamorous sort of way. Who’s the fairest one of all? Four separate mini-collections, in haute animated couture. The incomparable Cruella De Vil and Snow White’s Evil Queen are dazzlingly devilish; Sleeping Beauty’s Maleficent and The Princess and the Frog’s DR. FACILIER, both up to no good on their own.You can’t help but wonder what it would be like to be one!

I grew up watching these movies and to this day love watching them, so I was pretty excited when I found out that make was coming out with this collection right before Halloween. (Perfect timing if you ask me.)

I really want them all but if I had to pick I think Maleficent would be my favorite in the MAC collection and in the Disney Movies... Who's your favorite Disney Villain??

Here are some pictures that may help

Fridays Favorite Things...

Each Friday I will report on some of my favorite things....
This is my favorite nail color right now. It's called "You don't know Jacques!" by OPI... I love it!

Dark Roots

Dark roots are HOT right now and it's not due to laziness! It's one of the latest trends right now in Hollywood and it looks really natural and gorgeous! Here are a few examples.

One of my biggest pet peeves when I was a blond was how often I had to touch up my roots. (I have naturally dark brown hair) so if I had longer hair I would totally opt for this look.

The nice thing about this look is that it's also less maintenance. It requires less trips to the salon because you don't have to get your roots touched every 6 weeks. You want the grown out, dark roots.

To achieve this look I do a technique that is called color melting. It's one of my favorite this to do when it comes to color. You don't get the fake stripy high light look and you can be creative with the colors. It's so much fun and looks so good!

This look is perfect for fall! You should defiantly try it out!

Operation Beautiful -

It's time to make a change... You are beautiful just the way you are!!

*Think of the most beautiful person in your life, now think of 3 words that describe them...

I have many beautiful people in my life, I could probably choose any of the women in my life to be on this list... My Mom, Sister, Aunts, Sister in-laws, Grandma, Mother-in-Law...

But tonight I am going to brag a little bit about my Grandma.

The 3 words I would pick that describe her beauty are..

1. Loving- She has 28 grandchildren, 5 1/2 great grandchildren, plus 1 adopted granddaughter from china... She loves us all SO much and she makes us all feel like we are her favorite. She would do anything for any of us, and ALWAYS puts her family first before herself.
2. Patient- I have NEVER met someone so patient in all my life! In all my 27 years she has never raised her voice to any of us... Even when my brother and I poked holes in her brand new kitchen chairs.
3. Virtuous, honorable, trustworthy- Ok I cheated and added a few more words... but it's my blog... I can :). My grandma is one of the best listeners, I can tell her almost anything and I know in the end she still loves me and that she will give me some great advice. She also tells some of the best stories about when she was little or when her kids were little... I just love to sit and talk with her! You wont ever her a fowl word come out of her mouth and you always leave feeling better about yourself after our good talks.

So out of your 3 words and my 3 words... how many of our words had anything to do with outward appearance?? My guess is maybe 1 out of 3 (if that)...

So what is beauty?? Beauty comes from within!

I hope I can help women remember that. My goal as a stylist is not to cover someone up, or to make them into something they are not, but my goal is to enhance the beauty from within.

The Perfect Brow

On Friday I took a class at Nordstrom to learn how to do the perfect brow from the Anastasia team. I learned a lot!!

But first a little bit about Anastasia herself-
Growing up in the culturally rich Romanian seaport of Constanta, Anastasia was exposed to the classic styles of the Greek, Roman, and Byzantine empires at an early age. Working as an apprentice in her parents' tailor shop, she first took notice of how proportions apply to the human body. Anastasia broadened her field of interest with studies in architecture, engineering, drawing, and mathematics during college. She learned of the Fibonacci sequence, as well as Leonardo Da Vinci's drawings and studies of the Golden Ratio, as it applies to Nature and the human body. Combining her artistic interests with more technical ones, Anastasia trained professionally as an esthetician in Romania before moving with her family to California.

Her Studies has helped her create the right proportions for brows that can do wonders for the face.

On Elle.com they interviewed Anastasia on how to get the perfect brow, here is what they had to say-

To bring “balance and harmony” to your unique bone structur

e, Soare says choosing the right width, shape, and color is key—here, her tips and tricks for getting perfect eyebrows.

Through Thick and Thin “If you have a tiny face with delicate features, thick brows can be overwhelming,” says Soare, adding that those with a low brow bone should also avoid going too full. “You want to open your eyes—if the space between the brows and the upper lashes is small, make the eyebrow thinner and more arched.”

On the other hand, if you have a higher-set brow bone, thick brows are the more flattering option (otherwise, says Soare, your visage might look disproportionate). If you divide t

he face into thirds, “the spaces between the hairline and the brows, brows and nose base, and nose base to the chin should be equal in length,” says Soare. Wider arches are also best for fuller faces, whose expansiveness can be magnified by thin brows.

Filling in the Blanks

“With the help of a pencil and/or powder, you can fill in spaces and create the appearance of lusher brows,” says Soare. When grooming Penélope Cruz’s brows for the Oscars

earlier this year, Soare used Brow Wiz in medium ash and accentuated the arch by dusting highlighter underneath. To finish, Soare brushed on clear brow gel to keep hairs and pencil color in place. She calls brow gel a “hairspray for eyebrows” and says that if you don't have any handy, actual hairspray will do (mist on a fine-bristled toothbrush and comb through brows).

Color Theory Though Madonna’s dark-brows-with-blond-hair combo was chic in the 1980s, Soare says arches look best when they're within one to two shades of your hair color: “If you’re brunette, they should be one shade lighter; if you’re blond, they should be one shade darker.” Rather than p

ermanently dye the brows of her celebrity clients—whose h

air colors change as often as their film and TV roles—Soare uses tinted brow gel to lighten and darken accordingly.

So now let's put it to the test-

I did half my face... as you can see the the good brow looks a whole lot better! If I hadn't waxed my eyebrows on Saturday this demo would have worked better but I think you get the idea.

I would love to do your brows next! Call and set up an appointment today!
