Disney Princess Hair...

All those pretty Princesses and their flowing pretty hair... WE ALL WANT IT!

And some of us are lucky enough to be able to pull off the perfect red hair! Like this client below. Don't you love it!? (I can't take credit for doing this color this time around...  This is her second time in and the stylist remembered to snap a picture.)  But when this client came in the first time and requested red hair I had the pleasure of having her in my chair. When she told me what she wanted, at first I questioned it... are you sure you want little mermaid hair? YEP! I am so happy with how it turned out and just as happy the second time when I got to visit with her again.
Also this client reminds me of why I love my job! She made such and impression on me and was a pleasure to meet and talk with.

Want to make your hair 95% less frizzy?.......... YES
Want to make your curly hair more manageable?.......... YES
Want to make your hair shine?........... YES
Want to make your hair silky, soft, and conditioned?........ YES
Want to take less time blow drying your hair?........ YES
Want all of the above and for it to last up to 4 months?....... YES

Well you should try this new smoothing system by Chi, it's amazing! I took a class last week and I am now certified to preform the Chi ultimate blowout service in the salon.

Look at my before and after...

....BEFORE....

....After....

What is the Chi Blowout?
From the manufacturer's website:
CHI Enviro American Smoothing Treatment is a revolutionary safe treatment. It eliminates up to 95% of frizz while making curly hair more manageable. It instantly adds amazing shine, silkiness and condition to the hair. The results of this safe alternative to traditional harsh straightening systems are amazing. The system safely smoothes frizzy, curly hair into beautiful, soft and silky hair. When the powerful, yet gentle, formula is combined with heat from the CHI Iron and dryer the hair is bonded, providing incredible results.
This revolutionary smoothing system infuses the unique formula of amino acids, proteins, silk and pearl into the hair’s cuticle. This process dramatically improves the condition, shine and smoothness of even the most unruly hair types. Results typically lasts up to 4 months depending on hair type.
I'll be honest I was a bit skeptical when I went into the class,  it sounds too good to be true! But I must admit I was very pleased with the results and I am now a believer. All the girls in the salon now want it done on our own hair! Another great thing is that it can be done on most hair types. If you are going on vacation or a busy Mom that doesn't have a lot of time to spend on their hair and want your hair more manageable this is the perfect treatment for you.

I can't wait to see you there!

A Goal and My Attempt to Recreate....

I've had a goal for awhile now but haven't done it for one reason or the other. My goal is to get inspiration from pinterest, youtube, google...etc. and try and recreate it. I think this goal is good for a couple of reasons.
1.It's always good to try new things
2. It's good to challenge ourselves and get out of our comfort zone.
3. It will get my creative juices flowing... (they have been a little rusty lately) and lets be honest no one wants a hairstylist that is stuck in a rut, and only does the same two haircuts or styles on everyone.
4. I will make mistakes... it's just bound to happen. As long as I learn from my mistakes they will be discoveries and opportunity to grow.
4. With practice I will become a better hairstylist and it will help me with my every day to day clients.

WIN WIN WIN!

So with that being said I watched a youtube video today and took a stab at it.

The a few discoveries I learned from this are...
1. I really wish my doll head had blond hair!
2. Because she has brown hair I should have used black hair ties.
3. Because she has brown hair I wish I would have left it nice and smooth instead of adding the crimping in there. When I crimped the hair it just turned out looking like a rats nest instead of how it looks in the youtube movie.
4. I think I would like to add braids in somewhere if I did this again.

Ok so now it's your turn to challenge me... send me a picture or a clip of something you would like me to try and recreate and I will post it here on the blog... READY GO!!

Back to School Kids Cuts

I don't know if I've told you or not but I am back in the Salon and I Love it!! I work at the Jcpenney salon at the Provo town center.

This August we are doing $10 kids cuts for back to school which is an awesome deal!

I thought it would be fun to share some ideas for little kids... here a a few pictures I found.

Girls Cuts
If your little girl has some curl in her hair embrace it (as shown with the little girl holding the makeup brush) this will make your mornings a lot easier, plus it's so cute! Products you will need is a light gel to hold it in place and make it less freeze.

The bob cut always looks cute and fresh on little girls. You can ware the bob with some bangs or with out. This style will require you to blow dry with a round brush. You'll want to remember to use a heat protectant in the hair if you are blow-drying or using the flat iron.

Long hair is also fun but will require you to spend some time styling it or you'll probably end up with a tangled mess. The nice thing about long hair is the amount of different styles you can do. If you need help looking for ideas pinterest has lots or YouTube (click here for one of my favorite ones).

Boys Cuts
I love how the style is to have little boys hair a little bit longer and messy. Boys ruff and tumble anyways so the messy look is perfect! As far as styling products a light Gel or a wax will go a long way with any of these styles. These styles are going to be quick and easy to get ready each morning for school.

Thank you for stopping by my page! Please remember to follow me and I hope to see you in my salon soon! Please call to make an appointment at 801-852-3530

Easter Weekend Makeup

I am so happy that it's Easter time and Spring time! Spring Time is my FAVORITE time of the year.

While looking at pinterest I came across this beauty -------------->
I wish I knew who the makeup artist was so I could give them some credit and pick their brain on what products they used... but I am coming up empty handed in my search.

However I thought it would be fun to share what products I would use to try and recreate it.

LIPS- I would use Snob from M.A.C

CHEEKS- I would use HD Microfinish Blush in First Kiss - bright apricot by Make up For Ever

EYES- 44 LASH by M.A.C, Urban Decay Eye-shadow Primer, Rule eye-shadow by M.A.C and Shroom eye-shadow by M.A.C

Let me know if you try it out and what products you ended up using... I would love to see it!!

                                                                                                                        Have a Happy Spring DAY!

Oh NO!

Oh my heavens, it's been far to long since I last posted on here! I apologize if you have been waiting at the edge of your seat for a new beauty post... I am sure that is the case.

I have some good news, I am now a certified makeup artist! I completed a two week intensive MAC makeup class at Taylor Andrews Academy of Hair Design and I LOVED every minute of it!

I feel like my makeup skills progressed so quickly in just those two short weeks... believe me, the first night we had to do makeup on someone I had the crease color piratically up the middle of their forehead and no where near the crease of the eyelid where it belongs.

At the end of the course we had a photo shoot, I am so happy with the way my photos turned out! (It helps that I had a beautiful model to begin with.)

I know I have so much more to learn about being a makeup artist and I am pumped to learn EVERYTHING about it!

I have a few goals in mind:
Take a special effects makeup class
Do 20 faces in 20 days
Assist some awesome makeup artist
Do more photo shoots
Get a paying job :)

These goals will have to be accomplished all in due time... I have a baby on the way, which I am happy my world will revolve around! But if I ever get some free time I hope to fit in these goals.

Also if you know anyone that is in need of a makeup artist, I hope you will send them my way.

Until next time..

PS: Another goal is to be better at keeping up with my media pages... blog, facebook and so forth. :)

About Li Lash-

Sales for $140 - Buy NOW for only $125!

I've mentioned before on facebook that I now sale Li Lash, which is an eyelash stimulator. I have had a few people ask me about it so I wanted to tell you some information about Li Lash.

Get Long, Beautiful lashes with Li Lash eyelash enhancement.

Lilash is geared both towards those who want to enhance their lashes naturally and those who wear eyelash extensions because it not only encourages growth, but strengthens existing hairs, offering more support and less breakage

Generally, those who used Lilash agreed that, compared to other lash enhancement products, it worked the fastest and the results were the most dramatic. Those who used the product daily noticed that their lashes were not only longer and healthier, but thicker and fuller as well. People noticed results very quickly and within six weeks those who used Lilash saw full results and were very pleased. Most claimed they would never again need mascara because their lashes were so long and full already

How to Apply Li Lash
  1. Apply once a day, morning or evening, to clean dry skin. Allow LiLash to dry for 2 to 3 minutes before applying other cosmetics.
  2. Remove the applicator from the tube and carefully wipe off any excess product on the inside of the tube.
  3. Apply the applicator to the skin of the upper eyelid along the lash line from inner to outer corner of the eye. See illustration below. A single application stroke is all that is required. LiLash is highly concentrated so little is needed for your best lashes
To avoid irritation do not apply to the lower eyelids or directly to the lashes themselves!
Side effects may occur-

Though the Lilash formula is safe for even the most sensitive eyes, there are some possible side effects may occur. First, some people noticed that there was burning and itchiness if it gets to the eyes. It may last for a couple of minutes. It feels like the burning sensation you get when you get shampoo in your eye. Others found that the formula caused swelling around the eye and discoloration of the upper lid. However, all side effects were easily reversible.

As mentioned earlier I am selling this product for $125 right now, if you are interested please let me know either on this blog in the comments, or on my facebook page.

If you have any other question feel free to ask me, or you can visit Li Lash FAQ's HERE.
